How can I bridge the gap between print based and online comprehension instructional strategies with the support I provide for high school teachers and students?
Abstract:
Through my courses in the New Literacies and Global Learning K-12 Reading Cohort, I have been learning more about the many ways that students are increasingly using technology to access information. These studies, along with my current work with high school special education teachers, has motivated me to explore how I can provide the most useful, efficient and effective tools and strategies for learners as they grapple with comprehending both print and digital text. In doing so, I concurrently explored the professional development needs that must be addressed in order to better prepare our learners for success in our global society.
